Actress Jennifer Lawrence turns her attention to becoming a director

TTO – Very successful as an actress with an Oscar and the blockbuster series “The Hunger Games”, now Hollywood’s “golden girl” Jennifer Lawrence wants to pursue a career as a director.

According to Entertainment Weekly magazine, Lawrence recently revealed that she had just signed a contract to direct a movie called Project Delirium. “The film’s content is based on an article about a psychological warfare experiment in the 1960s that went wrong,” Lawrence said.

That article was Operation Delirium, published in The New Yorker in 2012, about US military doctors performing a number of experiments on soldiers during the Cold War. Lawrence said she wanted to be a director since she was 16 years old. “Now I’m ready” – Lawrence affirmed.

This isn’t the first time Lawrence has gone beyond acting. Earlier this year, it was reported that she co-wrote the movie script with famous screenwriter Amy Schumer. Experts say Lawrence has enough foundation to become a successful director.

Her acting talent has been confirmed with an Oscar gold statue, and she is a star especially admired by the audience. Forbes magazine recently estimated that Lawrence was the highest-paid Hollywood actress in 2015 with a total of 52 million USD.

In Hollywood, there are also many talented actors who have successfully turned to directing, such as Clint Eastwood or Ben Affleck. Actress Angelina Jolie also pursued a career as a director and had certain success.

However, acting talent and prestige are not enough to ensure success as a director. Actress Scarlet Johansson once directed part of the movie New York, I love you (New York, I love you) but this part was cut because of poor quality.
