What is Jesse Spencer doing now? (Apart from not permanently returning to ‘Chicago Fire’)

The Season 10 finale of Chicago Fire did not disappoint, unless of course you count the potential heartbreak happening around the world now that Brettsey’s future is at stake. We knew that at some point we had to give in because a long-distance relationship between two people, one of whom wasn’t even on the show, was pretty difficult. Obviously, fans were hoping that Jesse’s appearance in the Season 10 finale of Chicago Fire would mean a possible permanent return, but we’re not sure about his availability. What is Jesse Spencer doing now?

We have good news and bad news. The good news is that Jesse Spencer is once again successfully recruited after escaping the Chicago Fire. The bad news is that he probably won’t be returning to Chicago Fire. We’re including cameos here. According to Variety, Jesse has left Chicago for the wide open space.
Jesse is returning to his native Australia to take on a role in Disney Plus’s Last Days of the Space Age. The eight-part series is described as a drama “set in 1979 Western Australia as a power strike threatens to plunge the region into darkness, while the region hosts the Miss Universe pageant.” space station and the US space station, Skylab, crashed to earth.”

This is a very layered program! There are many overarching themes one can draw from literal and figurative power struggles to something from the universe disrupting the Universe (the contest).

Are we sure Brettsey is done?

Until a character in Chicago Fire is actually killed, nothing is certain. However, the conversation between Sylvie (Kara Killmer) and Matt in the Season 10 finale appears to have come to an end. It’s also incredibly healthy and is probably something we should all model for our future breakups.
Naturally, the Stellaride wedding did not go smoothly. There were a few minor bumps like losing the wedding venue. Luckily, Matt was there to save the day (what are best friends and men for?). He suggests renting a tour boat, which means Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Kelly (Taylor Kinney) can tie the nautical knot thanks to its captain.
At the reception, it felt like Sylvie and Matt finally had a private moment while dancing. Up until this point, we actually thought Jesse Spencer might be returning, but the conversation suggests otherwise. Matt is clearly very happy with the life he has built in Portland as a father and a firefighter tackling wildfires.

Of course, Sylvie is delighted to be 51 again. The only thing holding them back from truly entering these new lives is, sadly, each other.

“You made a beautiful life for yourself in Oregon, Matt, but it’s your life, not mine,” Sylvie told him. She went on to say: “My 51 family is here, my job is here, my life is here. How much longer can we keep this up with this amount of separation?” Matt doesn’t have an answer for that. All he could say was, “Tonight we’re together.” Let your tears flow!
