Eric Winter and Roselyn Sanchez’s Relationship: All About the Actor and Singer’s Marriage

Eric Winter and Roselyn Sánchez are a dream team — both on- and off-camera.
Since meeting in 2005, The Rookie cast member and Fantasy Island star have grown together as partners and professionals in Hollywood. When they first crossed paths, Winter was appearing on Days of Our Lives as Rex Brady and Sánchez had just earned a nomination at the Latin Grammys.

Despite a slow start, sparks flew between them, and they got married in 2008 after a year-long engagement. Throughout their union, Winter and Sánchez have welcomed two children together: daughter Sebella in 2012 and son Dylan in 2017.
As for their careers, the couple cheered each other on while embarking on several projects. Winter landed roles on The Mentalist and Witches of East End before becoming a lead on one of ABC’s procedural dramas, while Sánchez earned praise for her work on Devious Maids and Grand Hotel. They have also collaborated on several titles, including Hallmark Channel’s A Taste of Summer.
While the pair stays busy, they still enjoy spending time together as a family. Speaking with Hallmark’s Home & Family in 2019, Sánchez praised Winter’s parenting.
“He’s an amazing father,” she said. “As a woman, when you think about…being a mother at some point, you’re very blessed and very lucky if you find someone who is going to be an amazing dad.”
Winter added that he loves his wife’s tenacity and go-getting attitude. “I admire her drive and commitment to everything she wants to do,” he said. “She tells me all the time, ‘I want to do this, I have no idea how I’m going to do it, but I want to do this’ and she makes it happen. It’s a true inspiration to me.”
Here’s everything to know about Eric Winter and Roselyn Sánchez’s relationship, from their marriage to their kids.

Winter and Sánchez got married in 2008

Winter and Sánchez first met at a party in Los Angeles in 2005, and three months later, he asked her out. The couple revealed to InStyle their first date was a sushi dinner, followed by a second date where the two went away for the weekend.
Fast forward to 2007, Winter proposed to Sánchez on a midnight kayak ride in Puerto Rico, where she was born.
“I was petrified she would drop the ring,” he said of the engagement. “It never left the box. She accepted; I shut the box and told her she could see it again on land.”
They married on Nov. 29, 2008, in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, at Castillo de San Cristóbal. Winter and Sánchez exchange vows in front of 250 family and friends. The bride wore a gown embellished with pearls and crystals for the ceremony and had two outfit changes for the first dance and reception.
They share two children
Winter and Sánchez welcomed their first child, daughter Sebella “Sebi” Rose Winter, on Jan. April 2012.
The new mom announced her arrival on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Welcome to the world beautiful Sebella Rose Winter! Mami and Daddy adore you! This joy is overwhelming. Thanks for all of the good wishes!” Sánchez wrote.
The pair expanded their family again with the addition of their son, Dylan Gabriel Winter, born on Nov. March 3, 2017.
“After many years of dreaming about you, you came into our lives in perfect condition! We are all so happy with your arrival,” Sánchez exclusively shared with People en Español to announce his birth. “Your sister Sebella Rose looks at you with indescribable tenderness. Thank you for choosing our family to start your life. We love you.”
Both of their kids were conceived via in vitro fertilization (IVF), which the former dancer spoke about openly.
In a September 2017 interview with PEOPLE, Sánchez shared that the process was “pretty intense and pretty brutal.” She added that they lost Sebi’s twin “very early on,” and she went through more than six rounds of treatment before getting pregnant with Dylan at age 44.
“Thank God that we have human beings that dedicate their lives to be fertility doctors. They’re making miracles happen and they’re [helping] women like me who want to be moms so badly,” Sánchez PEOPLE told. “I think it’s a wonderful thing.”
